The RS SST-2G2E-AB20 Gigabit Single-Mode Media Converter Set is designed to extend Gigabit Ethernet networks over single-mode fiber at distances up to 20 km.
The set includes two media converters, with each unit featuring 2 × Gigabit RJ45 Ethernet ports and separate SC TX and RX fiber connections. The optical link therefore uses two single-mode fiber strands, one for transmitting (TX) and one for receiving (RX).
With two Gigabit Ethernet ports available at each end, the converter set is ideal for CCTV systems, building-to-building connections, remote network cabinets and other long-distance Ethernet applications.
