The RS SST-1G4E-AB03 Gigabit Single-Mode Media Converter Set provides long-distance Gigabit Ethernet transmission over a single-mode fiber connection while offering 4 × Gigabit RJ45 ports at each end.
The package consists of a matched A + B (TX/RX) pair using different optical wavelengths for BiDi/WDM transmission over a single fiber strand. One unit operates at 1330 nm and the other at 1550 nm, communicating through SC Simplex fiber ports over distances of up to 3 km.
With 4 × RJ45 Gigabit Ethernet ports on each converter, the SST-1G4E-AB03 is particularly useful for CCTV systems, remote network cabinets, building-to-building links and installations where multiple Ethernet devices need to be connected at the remote location without adding a separate network switch.
